Transforming the Dodge Residence: A Landscaping Masterpiece

This comprehensive project addressed multiple landscaping challenges and created a peaceful, beautiful space that exceeded the homeowners' expectations.
A Multi-Phase Approach to Excellence
1. Pruning and Fertilizing Shrubs
To kickstart the transformation, we pruned and fertilized all shrubs under 20 feet to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage. We also removed any shrubs that were in poor condition or dying, ensuring a clean slate for the new landscaping.
2. Addressing Drainage Issues
Water management was a significant concern for the Dodge property. To tackle this, we:
Created a 56x5 dry river bed to slow and collect water flowing down the hill.
Graded the sides of the house for better water runoff.
Installed 4 tons of rip rap stone to address water issues in the backyard.
Dug a 1-foot trench to collect and direct water effectively.
These drainage solutions not only resolved longstanding water issues but also added a visually appealing feature to the landscape.
3. Enhancing the Landscape with New Plantings
We replaced 12 shrubs around the house with vibrant Encore Azaleas and Dystilliums. To further enhance the property, we added:
3-gallon shrubs along the fence line.
7-gallon Camellias for a touch of elegance.
3-gallon Gardenias to infuse the space with their classic fragrance.
A layer of brown dyed mulch to tie everything together and retain soil moisture.
4. Lush Zoysia Sod Installation
To complete the transformation, we installed approximately 5,800 square feet of Zoysia (Zeon) sod in the backyard and an additional 5,000 square feet in the front yard. This lush, durable grass variety is perfect for creating a polished, serene outdoor space.
